“The Chef’s Table” by La Villa Mahana
"this is the place for the epicurean, the art lover, art of cuisine, art of wine, art of liquor, art of painting, and art of sculpting. No trip to French Polynesia is complete until you have a dinner at this exceptional place.!
There is no place, perhaps in the world to dine, quite like Bora Bora's very own La Villa Mahana, which means Villa of the Sun. Located just north of the gorgeous Maitra Beach, this luxury villa restaurant is intimate, romantic, and highly rated as an epicurean experience not to miss. Chef and restaurateur Damien Rinaldi-Dovio is a French native and began his training in France under Chef Paul Bocuse. He continued across the Atlantic to the fine restaurants in Los Angeles like L'Orangerie, then made his way to the South Pacific to Tahitian paradise. Chef Damien married a Tahitian lady, who you may find greeting you when you walk into the restaurant! And he has a daughter that has been growing up on the islands for many years. It is clear Chef is committed to the Polynesian culture and sharing his gourmet expertise with those that visit. The cuisine at La Villa Mahana is classic French but it blends many cultures while keeping the French and Polynesian traditions in each dish. The restaurant uses only the best quality and freshest veggies, fish, and meats. There is only one seating every evening at La Villa Mahana, and just seven two-person tables scattered on three different levels in the luxury villa, which is home to a famous Bora Bora artist. Chef Damien creates the menu every night. Be sure to choose his signature Epicurean Menu, either the four- or five-course dinner with champagne and wine pairings for each course. If you choose the signature menu, you may get anything from goat cheese tart to lobster to mahi-mahi with curry and banana. Lunch at “The Chef’s Table” by La Villa Mahana consists of all the amazing food that the restaurant is known for during dinner but tapas-style with smaller plates. The smaller samplings combined with a luxury villa view will make for quite a special lunch experience.
